Specialists in Scottish and Irish family history

About image
I have been exploring family histories for many years as an keen amateur but I'm now retired and have now completed several  courses on genealogy at Forth Valley  College and University of Strathclyde as well as a Palaeography course at  Glasgow University to build my expertise. I charge minimal rates as its not a full time business with premises etc and most charges are for access to the  records that I would need to build your family tree or solve your challenge. . But all costs would be transparent and agreed before searching.

In addition:
As based in Scotland it may be possible to access local archives to build up your family tree and visit local area to take pictures or again access local records.( may be travelling costs for that)
I can search and build family trees for Scottish and Irish ancestors. At the outset, the Irish records are not always as straightforward as Scottish ones that are increasingly comprehensive but several databases can now be accessed in the public domain.
I can cover English and Welsh records if required as well as other countries if records are available.

Scottish Family

Use existing national Scottish records to find your ancestors as far back as you want to go or records allow. I visit local family research centres and libraries across central Scotland to find records ie poor house records, burial documents etc - amazing what you can find locally!!

Irish Family

To use existing Irish records to find your family. Recognising that Irish records , whilst improving all the time with new databases and web services, have many records destroyed from the past and can be limited. But there are many local databases by county that are now appearing.

Other countries

I am able to research English , Welsh records too using the resources I have and now accessing Italian databases too.

We will support you even if its one question or one piece of information you need, right through to a whole family tree with their stories. We're here to help so don't be afraid to ask and contact us - no obligation at all.
